How is the endocannabinoid system involved with women’s health across the lifespan?

Women experience physical and hormonal changes through every stage of development and aging. Learn how the endocannabinoid system functions facilitate and impact women’s health and reproduction, and how cannabinoid therapeutics may be utilized to uniquely assist women through the changes of life. 

Topics include: Women as healers, Endocannabinoid System function during Pregnancy and Menopause, issues related to Cannabis use and women’s health and wellness across the lifespan.


Michelle Sexton, MD

Dr. Sexton is Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of California San Diego. She earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, 2008. She completed pre and postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Washington on cannabinoid Pharmacology and roles in neuroinflammation / neurodegeneration. Her NIH-funded research investigated impacts of cannabis on inflammatory markers in patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
