In this panel session, we identify areas of concern regarding mental health status and well-being related to stress and trauma, while exploring a balanced approach to symptom management including guidance to nourish self-care practices.
R. ‘Doc” Gage Amsler has served in a US military Recon LAV Unit, as a Firefighter & Paramedic and as a High Threat Security Contractor & Combat Medic for 7 years of war. He’s found salvation, and he’s lost loved ones. He now lives in Michigan where, after returning home from war, he wrote his true story book entitled ‘The Strains of War’ and has also become a strong advocate for the health and welfare of U.S. Military Veterans and anyone suffering from PTSD, as well as the use of cannabis for medical treatment and beyond.
A professional registered nurse with Cannabis-specific knowledge who offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers.
Karen Kostick is a long-term alcohol-free peer recovery specialist, health information professional, cannabis therapeutic advocate and a Michigan military health activist to raise critical awareness and effective treatments for PTSD and other silent wounds of war.
