Cannabis Nurses Network’s mission is clear; “Empower Nurses through Education, Opportunity, Recognition and Advocacy.” We are equally clear and concise in our unified support of diversity and inclusion within our organization and profession as nurses, especially as cannabis nurses.
We recognize the trauma that has been caused over years of racial injustice in America. Including intergenerational trauma caused by deep rooted racism and the war on drugs, which disproportionately effects people of color negatively, despite research showing that white and non-white Americans use cannabis at similar rates.
Together we stand strongly against racial profiling, police brutality, and injustice of any kind against people of color. Violence against humanity must stop.
Martin Luther King, Jr said, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” Cannabis Nurses Network stands in solidarity with a deep desire to empower, support, advocate for and love one another. We hold our position not only in words, but in action.
Cannabis Nurses Network has forged a partnership with Cannabis Nurses of Color to implement a cannabis nurse diversity training program for our members and staff. Proceeds from this program are donated to a scholarship fund to ease the path for future cannabis nurses of color to achieve professional advancement and educational opportunities through CNN.
As cannabis nurses, we understand the complexities of trauma; PTSD, Post Traumatic Growth, and the Endocannabinoid System. The health and well-being of our society matters. We are offering support through educational programming as a gift to Cannabis Nurses of Color to embrace and actively demonstrate our love and solidarity toward our beloved nurse colleagues and friends. We hope this program will further empower cannabis nurses in practicing self-care and providing increased quality of life within our families and communities.
Black lives matter.
